FULL MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUE
Rebecca Petruck will critique one full manuscript of fiction in any genre, including picture books, middle grade and teen, or adult. The critique will include an extensive letter highlighting what works, what needs work, and suggestions, as well as a follow-up phone call to discuss questions or brainstorm ideas.
Rebecca has critiqued thousands of pages of children’s and adult fiction. She received her MFA from UNC Wilmington, ranked one of the top 50 creative writing programs in the nation by Poets & Writers magazine, and is represented by Kate Testerman of kt literary. Visit her at www.rebeccapetruck.com.
“Rebecca is a brilliant critiquer and writer. She honed in on issues in my manuscript with which I had been struggling for months. She keenly dissected the problem and offered constructive, spot-on advice. Her natural warmth and generosity toward other writers shone through in the care she took with her comments, her diplomacy in presenting them, and her enthusiasm for the overall work.”
Jo Hackl, represented by Adams Literary
“I couldn’t recommend Rebecca more highly as a freelance editor. She has an incredibly sharp eye when it comes to pacing and characterization, and she has a great knack for offering suggestions that are both honest and uplifting. Due to Rebecca’s help, my manuscripts have improved vastly--she pointed out areas where the plot had stalled, she asked me thought-provoking questions on character motivation, and she helped me flesh out my world-building. Simply put, she whipped my writing into shape and I couldn’t be more thankful!”
Caroline Tung Richmond, represented by Dystel & Goderich Literary Management
“Rebecca Petruck is a writer’s ally and mentor. I was very impressed with her ability to understand what I was hoping to accomplish in my book and to provide targeted feedback. Her ability to see the entire “forest” of my novel was unparalleled. Her comments were consistently insightful and helped me to see my work with a fresh perspective. I highly recommend Rebecca as a critiquer. She will help you bring your work closer to submission-ready status.”

Yay! Our team rocks! I think we're leading the auction with the most money raised so far! Not that it's a contest, of course. (But we DO way rock. I've been singing a Queen song all morning. :)
