Invitation to Authors to Help Authors for Henryville!

Dear Fabulous Authors!

We're Indiana-based YA authors working to raise funds for Henryville schools, which were destroyed by the March 2nd tornadoes in Southern Indiana. All monies donated will either go to the rebuilding of the school libraries or to the Red Cross (it's the schools' choice!)

Meanwhile... We're asking for your help! Pledge book(s) and/or book swag to be given away as one of the prizes in a drawing from the names of those who donate to the Henryville cause. Your prize will be up on this Authors for Henryville website. http://jakarr.blogspot.com/

At this point, all we need is an inventory of what you will donate as a prize. Signed books are excellent! We also welcome prize packs of 4-6 books with some kind of theme, whether based on age group, author, genre, or subject matter. If possible a photo of the books/prizes stacked together would be a huge help in generating interest in your prize. This is also a great chance for you to get a little positive publicity and attention for books you care about (your own or others'). And please include a link to your website!

Once we have a winner, we will contact you with the address of the individual who has won. You would then mail the prize directly to her or him.

Here are three more ways you can help:

(1) ask your publisher to donate books to be used as prizes (see text below our message that you can copy right into your email). Any donation offers should go to authors4henryville@gmail.com.
(2) donate funds directly to the Henryville library donorschoose.org project (link will follow when the school has it set up) & tweet your donation amount with #authors4henry as hashtag. You can also email your donation amount to authors4henryville@gmail.com
(3) Help us get the word out about Authors for Henryville via twitter, your own website, facebook, and any other megaphones you have. Or, simply forward a link to this site to your author friends who might be interested in donating.

Thank you in advance for helping us to bring books back to the kids in Henryville as quickly as possible. Rockstars like you will make this happen!

Yours with gratitude,
Authors for Henryville
Julia Karr, Ashley Hope Perez, Christine Johnson, Mike Mullin, and Josie Bloss.
